We can thoroughly recommend it. Sweden’s third national cycle path, the South Coast Trail, was opened in 2019. It consists of 260 km of connected cycle paths along the coast from Helsingborg to Simrishamn. The trail is divided into six stages two of which go through stunning nature and the pretty villages surrounding Vellinge and around the Falsterbo Peninsula.
Pedal at your own pace across the open landscape, beside sparkling white beaches, via picturesque Skanör Falsterbo, through sweet-smelling pine forest and rolling cornfields. Follow the red and white signs and make small detours whenever the fancy takes you. We highlight the unique Amber Museum at Kämpinges fishing village, Foteviken Viking Museum in Höllviken and Majas bistro at Lorensdal farm outside Vellinge. If you are very lucky, perhaps the shop at the candy factory in Hököpinge will be open.
There are plenty of other cycle paths and cycle friendly roads on the Falsterbo Peninsula and in Vellinge and its surroundings. Download the latest cycle map here.
If you don’t have your own bicycle with you, there are plenty to rent at the following places:
